PARKING

Parking & Traffic Enforcement

  • Citations are distributed based on violations of our Campus policies. All guests are expected to note signage in their traffic and parking areas and are responsible for reviewing provided information prior to their visit.

Please note: Citations and their fines/fees/accelerations and their subsequent booting and towing is connected to the vehicle and not the individual. Because of this, you should never take another individuals ticket to complete the process as any future fines, booting or towing is the responsibility of the vehicle owner.

Policies + FAQs

Thompson’s Point Campus Parking

  • The rate to park on site is $2 per hour. The Thompson’s Point campus is pay to park 24/7, weekends and holidays.

  • Similar to the City of Portland, we are partnered with the Passport Parking App! It makes it easy to pay to park or reload sessions directly from your phone. The app can send you reminders when your session is expiring and can save your frequently used zones for hassle free parking.

Not a smartphone user? We also have 14 conveniently located kiosks available for use as well!

Please remember that our kiosks tickets are pay-and-display and need to be located on your dashboard and visible to our enforcement team at all times.

  • We have one zone for all of Campus, it’s 1213!

  • Easy! You can visit the RMC citation payment website here to appeal or pay for your ticket!

  • Citation payments may be mailed to the following address:

    Attn: Forefront Parking
    18 Van Aken Way
    Portland, ME, 04102

PLEASE NOTE that you must include your citation, citation number or license plate number with your payment so that your payment may be remitted to the proper account.

  • Similarly to the City of Portland, we cannot control the hours or ticket status of local businesses. We do not issue parking refunds if you discover the business you are traveling to is closed or sold out.

Please be sure to check with the business you are visiting prior to making your way to campus, that way, paying for parking you may not use fully can be avoided.

  • During regular days, feel free to drop folks off where it is most convenient. If we have a major event, or multiple events happening, our parking attendants will direct you to the drop-off location.

  • We do not allow camping overnight on-site. This includes campers, tents, pop-ups, busses or RV’s.

  • You can report that by filling out this quick FORM!

Please note: if a kiosk is out of order, a parker must begin a session using another one of the 14 conveniently located kiosks on campus, or begin an active session using the Passport Parking App!

Vehicles without an active session are eligible for ticketing, booting or towing at owners expense.

  • Yes. Thompson’s Point tows illegally parked vehicles from designated tow zones, no standing zones, pedestrian walkways and no parking areas in order to improve traffic flow and eliminate hazardous conditions.

In addition, your car may be towed if you owe three or more unpaid parking tickets or your vehicle is left for over 24 hours.

If your vehicle was towed for any of these reasons and you are trying to retrieve it, you may contact
    Yaz Towing at (207)671-4461.

Please note that if your vehicle was towed due to multiple unpaid citations, you will still need to pay the total amount due prior to returning to site, including all outstanding tickets, fees, fines and penalties or your vehicle will remain eligible for towing upon return to Thompson’s Point.

  • Thompson’s Point has 20 conveniently located ADA parking locations adjacent to our neighbors and tenants for use by our guests. Those spots are free for those who display a placard. Please note that other non ADA spots on site are still pay-to-park, so if you should choose to park elsewhere when ADA spots are available, it will still require payment at the normal $2 per hour!

  • We have a great motorcycle/scooter/ebike parking area(see the map below for details). If you are there, you may park without charge. If you park in a vehicle spot elsewhere on campus, you must pay by the hour!

  • You may unhitch a trailer in a parking spot but that spot must be paid for for the duration of the vehicles parking. There is no overnight, long-term parking allows for vehicles of this kind. Trailers and Campers are eligible for booting or towing if left overnight.

  • No. Long-term parking at Thompson’s Point during a snow ban is prohibited.

Thompson’s Point Event Parking

  • Good question! You can reach out directly to the event organizers to find that out!

  • Parking on site is very limited, and most times, sells out. You can find premier parking passes(until sold out) HERE, or by following the ticker link at the top of this page. If they are sold out, there are many other alternative options you can explore. Our campus is accessible by METRO, Amtrak, Lyft/Uber, the Portland Trails System and is safely ridable via bike. We also encourage drop-offs and carpooling!

  • Prepaid parking passes for the State Theatre Concert Series can be found on their website. Prepaid passes are $30. If there is remaining parking available on site day-of, it is $40 per vehicle, cash only.

Driving a Motorcycles, scooters and e-bike? On site parking is $20 cash day-of.

  • Depending on the day’s events, parking can fill up fast! Many folks choose to park downtown and use the trails system, rideshare or Greater Portland METRO to get to Campus. We encourage you to navigate our “Get to the Point” to explore your options. And as always, please be respectful of our Libbytown neighbors by reading and abiding by all City parking restrictions!

  • If you are coming to a major event, or on a day with multiple events, chances are, we will have attendants directing you to where you need to go. Please make sure to follow the instructions of our staff and be ready to let them know which event you’re headed to.

  • Good question. All major concert parking is paid event parking. If you have a pre-purchased parking pass, just show our parking attendants your ADA placard, and they will show you to the correct parking area. If you have an ADA placard and are trying to pay cash day-of, please know that availability is on a first-come first-serve basis until full and we encourage you to arrive as early as you can!

  • That’s a big no-go for us. Since we have a liquor license running on site to serve you all the best local bevs and summertime cocktails at events, tailgating is prohibited. It puts our license in jeopardy and we know no one wants that!

  • We want everyone to get home safely no matter what. Although we do not allow multiple overnight stays, if you need to leave your vehicle for one night, you can pay by-the-hour to leave it and pick it up before 8am the next day!

  • We begin accepting concert parking 2 hours before doors open!

  • For our major concert series, motorcycle, e-bike and scooter parking is $20 cash!
