The Depot structure was relocated from Union Station to Thompson’s Point when the station was torn down in the early 1960’s. It has since been improved with added structural reinforcement, a new roof, new floor, electricity, and new paint. The “Depot Pavilion” as we know it is approximately 1/3 of the original size when it was located at Union Station and stands at 14,000 SF. The Pavilion serves as the gateway to a premiere outdoor waterfront event area encompassing nearly 3.3 acres in size with the mouth of the Fore River on 3 of the 4 sides.

Eventually, The Depot Pavilion will have improvements such as informational environmental signage, access to water, seasonal dock, Portland trails pocket park, permanent concessions and bar building, expanded grass area, paved parking and more.
