Hotel Portland,a 148 room full service boutique brand hotel with restaurant, bar, and more, part of the tribute by Marriott portfolio.
Hotel Portland’s thoughtful design is intended to offer guests an experience rich with history, thoughtfully reimagined as an expression of modern Portland. The designs for the common areas, guestrooms, and restaurant and bar areas are intended to provide a hospitality experience with the poise and personality that explores contrasting elements of land and sea, tapping into the site’s historical use as a railyard and its impressive waterfront surroundings as a peninsula, as well as Portland’s status as a national destination for food and beverage experience. As such, the Property’s design will evoke a boutique feeling using an industrial-chic approach to style.
Amenities will include a fitness center, indoor pool, 1500 square feet of meeting/media room space, restaurant/bar, grab and go merchandise area, private dining room, roof terrace, and speakeasy bar. The property will also utilize the connected 34,000 square feet of event space at the adjacent building Brick South as its primary event space.
Set to open 2020!
Children’s Museum and Theatre of Maine at Thompson’s Point
In Fall of 2019, Thompson’s Point will become the new home of The Children’s Museum and Theatre of Maine.
CMTM has been steadily growing both its visitorship and educational offerings for more than 25 years. But, the physical limitations of their current downtown space have restricted their ability to expand their programming and service all those they wish to be engaging with.
After years of careful planning, CMTM has determined that now is the right time to make a move, and that Thompson’s Point is the right location to move to.
Innovative new exhibits, a 100-seat children’s theatre, outdoor play areas, community greenspace, easy accessibility, and plentiful parking will be just some of the highlights of CMTM’s new, purpose-built facility. Utilizing an educational framework based upon play, family, and inclusivity, their state-of-the-art building – double the square footage of CMTM’s current home – will serve as a much-needed resource to support the healthy growth and development of Mainers of all ages.
The Children’s Museum & Theatre of Maine will remain open at 142 Free St. (Portland) until their relocation.
